Terms for using Tinnitus Action

What this is: Tinnitus Action helps people find and complete real actions that support research toward treatments that reduce or silence tinnitus.
Who runs it: Tinnitus Action is an unregistered, founder-led, not-for-profit initiative run by Johan Fredriksson in Malmö, Sweden. It is not a registered company or charity, it has no partnerships it has not named, and it does not currently charge people to use it.
Not medical advice: Nothing here is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and nothing here should delay you seeking care from a qualified clinician.
How activity is recorded: An action is added to the shared record when someone reports completing it; matches and drafts are not counted. The record shows the collective effort people report — it is self-reported and is not by itself evidence that research, funding or policy changed.
Actions on other people's sites: Tinnitus Action helps you find and take an action, but the studies, organisations, surveys and funds are run by those parties. They set their own eligibility, availability, terms and privacy practices. We cannot promise acceptance into a study, availability, or any medical or research outcome. Details change, so check them at the destination, and we make no medical decisions for you. Tinnitus Action does not currently process donations or payments; where an action links to an external donation or payment page, that transaction is handled by the third party.
Use it honestly: Do not submit other people's personal data, and do not use the site to contact anyone on behalf of Tinnitus Action.
The optional account: An account is optional and free. It gives you a private page where you can see the actions you saved, manage monthly updates and keep an optional plan. It is never required to find, take or record an action. Only actions recorded in your own browser, using the one-time claim token our server issues to that browser at the moment of recording, can be attached. You can delete your account at any time from your private page.
The record is cumulative: Completion records are part of the cumulative public record. Deleting your account can leave your actions anonymously in the count. If you choose to remove them from the count, or ask us to remove an action using its receipt code, each affected action receives a permanent anonymous reversing entry; its original anonymous record stays so totals remain traceable.
Changes: As the service develops, these terms may change. The current version is always the one on this page.
