One meaningful action. One contribution that adds up.

Tinnitus Action connects what you can offer today with a real, current need. Every action is reviewed before publication and matched transparently. You compare, choose and complete one.

  1. Pain / frustration

  2. One meaningful action

    Optional: help me draft this

  3. Collective momentum

  4. Treatments closer

Many small, meaningful actions can add up to visible momentum toward treatments that reduce or silence tinnitus.
  1. 01

    Choose what you can offer

You are only ever offered what open actions can actually use today — for example a few minutes, money or a useful connection — plus what feels manageable.

  2. 02

    Transparent matching. You decide.

Anything that does not fit is removed. Up to three actions are shown, with a clear reason for each match.

  3. 03

Do one thing. See it add up

Complete the action and add it to our shared action record. Action counts are self-reported. They show coordinated activity, not independently verified impact.

Start with one action. See it add up. Then keep it moving.

Current actions

16 actions are currently open. Each has a recipient, a current need and a last-reviewed date.

Before publication, each action is checked for a real destination, a concrete next step and a current, relevant need. This is an editorial review of whether the action belongs in the catalogue—not scientific, medical or regulatory endorsement.

Ways to move tinnitus research forward

Tinnitus research can move through funding, participation, reach and expertise. Each open action uses at least one of these. The matcher only offers forms of contribution that a current action can use.

Funding
Direct money toward reviewed research or research-funding efforts focused on understanding or reducing tinnitus.
Participation
Join studies, surveys or registries with a verified current need for participants, data or lived experience.
Reach & Influence
Use your story, audience or network when a reviewed action needs greater reach or a relevant introduction.
Expertise
Offer relevant skills to researchers or mission-driven organisations with a current, reviewed need.

How it works in detail

How matching works

Published rules first remove actions that do not fit what you can offer, your available time, your location or the action’s requirements. They then order the remaining reviewed actions. Only catalogue actions can appear: the matcher never invents an action, recipient or impact claim. You see up to three strong matches, why each fits and which one is recommended. The choice remains yours.

What AI does—and does not do

AI does not choose or rank actions. Reviewed catalogue data and published rules determine what can be shown and in what order. Optional AI may explain why an action fits or help turn a chosen action into a concrete draft. It cannot add actions, recipients, facts or impact claims, and it never sends anything or acts on your behalf.

Selection criteria

Every published action must:

  • • Address a real, current need.
  • • Lead to a named recipient, public output or verifiable next step.
  • • Have evidence appropriate to the claim being made.
  • • Be clear about what it can and cannot achieve.
  • • Contribute to tinnitus research or treatment development, or be clearly labelled as movement-building.

Coping support can matter greatly, but it is outside this catalogue’s scope. Tinnitus Action coordinates concrete steps toward better understanding, prevention and treatments designed to reduce tinnitus itself. Inclusion is an editorial decision, not scientific, medical or regulatory endorsement.

What the action count means

A draft or opened destination is not counted. An action is added to the shared record only when you tell us you sent, submitted, donated or completed it. We do not count page views, matches, drafts, intentions, AI-generated text or country selections. Counts are self-reported and show coordinated activity—not independently verified impact.

If you already have an action in mind

If you already have an action in mind, describe it in your own words. You can keep your wording unchanged or ask for optional help making it concrete. AI is instructed not to introduce facts, organisations or health claims. Your text stays in your browser and is not stored or published by Tinnitus Action. After carrying it out, you can record it publicly only as "Self-defined action". Self-defined, self-reported and not reviewed by Tinnitus Action.

Movement-building actions

Some reviewed actions strengthen the movement rather than contributing directly to research—for example, asking a clinician to review Tinnitus Action or privately sharing it with one person living with tinnitus. These actions are labelled as movement-building. When two actions fit equally well, the action that contributes more directly to research is ordered first.

Privacy

You do not need an account. We do not ask about symptoms or medical history to match you with an action. A completion record contains the action, a randomly generated receipt code, a timestamp, your country if you choose to share it, source/client information and the rules version. It does not contain a public first name or an answer about how the action felt. Please do not enter health information. Full privacy note.

Governance
  • Every published action, recipient and explanation is human-approved. Published rules determine which eligible actions appear and in what order. AI never selects or ranks them; any AI help is optional and limited to explanation or drafting. No organisation can pay for placement. If you think an action or decision is wrong, tell us.
