About
Turn tinnitus frustration into credible action.
Tinnitus can leave you wanting something to change without any clear way to help make it happen. Research needs to move faster and better treatments need to arrive sooner—but what can one person usefully do?
Tinnitus Action connects what you can offer today with reviewed, concrete actions that support tinnitus research and treatment development.
Why I built Tinnitus Action
I have lived with tinnitus since 2007. Its severity has fluctuated, but at its worst it has made me question almost everything about my life. It was one reason I chose to study nanoscience, specialising in nanobiomedicine. I later studied Biomedical Engineering at UC Irvine.
Life took me into other work, but tinnitus never left the background. Neither did the question: why is it so hard for people who want better treatments to help promising work move forward?
Tinnitus Action is my attempt to make that easier: not to replace researchers or patient organisations, but to help people support their work.
My background includes needs-driven innovation and social entrepreneurship. Ashoka selected me as one of 15 young changemakers in Scandinavia, and I was nominated for Sweden’s Social Entrepreneur of the Year.
Researchers need participants, funding, skills, attention and relevant connections. Many people living with tinnitus want progress but lack a practical route to contribute. Tinnitus Action is trying to connect the two.
The goal is simple: minimise the time until treatments that substantially reduce or silence tinnitus reach the people who need them.
For me, part of this is about composting pain: letting some of the frustration tinnitus creates become meaningful progress.
I bring lived experience, technical training and a commitment to transparent criteria, official sources and honesty about what remains uncertain.
What Tinnitus Action does
You tell us what you can offer today. Tinnitus Action shows human-reviewed actions that fit, with the destination, time required and important limitations stated up front.
That might mean joining a study, supporting research with funding, offering a useful skill or helping a verified opportunity reach someone who can act on it.
Optional AI can help you understand or prepare an action after you choose it. It does not select actions, invent destinations, give medical advice or act on your behalf.
The focus is on credible paths towards better treatments. Support that helps people live better today matters, but it is not the endpoint this initiative is built around.
You remain in control.

Source-directed
Tinnitus Action coordinates action toward research and treatments aimed at understanding tinnitus mechanisms and substantially reducing or eliminating the tinnitus percept.
No hype. Clear limitations.
Promising science is presented as promising science—not as a breakthrough before the evidence supports it. We show where actions lead and what remains uncertain.
Coordinated action
One action will not solve tinnitus. But coordinated time, money, skills, participation and attention can influence what gets funded, studied, built and brought forward.
Independence
Tinnitus Action is an independent, founder-led, for-purpose initiative—not currently a registered company, charity, research organisation or medical service. It does not claim institutional endorsement.
I receive no salary. Tinnitus Action takes no share of donations, and organisations cannot pay for placement. Future funding, partnerships or conflicts of interest will be disclosed.
This is the service I wish had existed when I developed tinnitus in 2007.
It exists now.
