Contact a study team
Contact the TINNITOX study for tinnitus with jaw clenching or jaw pain (Norway)

- An enquiry takes a few minutes. The published participant description involves eight visits over a year, including injection and control visits; placebo is part of the study. Ask the research team to confirm the current protocol, eligibility and costs.
Important to know. The EU record lists adult patients in Norway and the live status 'Authorised, recruiting'. The study concerns tinnitus with bruxism and/or jaw-muscle myalgia, with further medical exclusions. It requires visits to Sørlandsklinikken in Arendal. Botulinum toxin is being investigated here; an established tinnitus benefit is not claimed. Only the study team can assess eligibility and explain risks, costs and consent. An enquiry is not enrolment, and no personal benefit is promised. Tinnitus Action is independent and does not receive your enquiry or health information.
- What you do
- Ask the study team whether you might be suitable.
- Where it happens
- In the official EU Clinical Trials register. Open “Locations and contact points” to find the public contact for Norway.
- When it counts
- When you have sent your enquiry. It does not mean you are taking part; the study team decides.
About this opportunity
- Purpose
- TINNITOX is a blinded, placebo-controlled study testing botulinum-toxin injections into jaw muscles for tinnitus associated with bruxism or jaw-muscle pain.
How this was verified
Checked against the current official trial-registry record
We checked this against the current official trial-registry record and link to it below. That is our check, not their endorsement.
Review this study and contact the team if it looks relevant to you. Only the study team decides who can take part — we make no judgement about that, and we never ask you anything about your health.
Pause for editorial review if recruitment closes, the study contact no longer accepts enquiries, or the participation route becomes unavailable.
